Taylor Swift Looks Natural in Russell Westbrook Video

Taylor Swift has taken a break from the spotlight but she made a rare video appearance to congratulate Russell Westbrook on his MVP win.

Swift’s social media accounts have been inactive lately and we haven’t seen much of the “Shake It Off” singer. That all changed when Westbrook got his NBA MVP award on Monday night. To congratulate the Oklahoma City Thunder player, she sent in a prerecorded video that his team shared on Twitter.

“Remember I was the one who taught you to play basketball? I was the one who taught you to dribble, to shoot hoops,” she says jokingly. “And I remember the first time you beat me at basketball. I was very upset, and if you remember correctly, you said, ‘You just have to shake it off.’ I got an idea. So essentially we have each other to thank for these careers.”

The two have actually never met but they’re fans of each other. Despite that, she took time to sing his praises. She calls him “amazing” and says she’s “so happy” for him. It’s a cute video that got a ton of attention on social media.

In the clip, Swift’s her usual silly self but she has different look, a more natural look. We haven’t seen her hair in its natural curly state in quite some time (remember “Teardrops on my Guitar“?). Her bangs are wavy and darker than the bleached blonde bob we saw last.

As always, haters are gonna hate and this video was no different. Some NBA fans had negative reactions to the clip. Some of Westbrook fans didn’t appreciate the hate, though. They stood up for Swift admitting that the MVP is also a “huge Taylor Swift fan.” On entertainment sites, though, people called attention to Swift’s new look. Many were over the moon about her darker, more natural curls but who knows what look we’ll see next.

What did you think of Swift’s sweet video for Westbrook? Do you like her natural look? Let her know in the comments below.
