There are a lot of ways to celebrate Halloween in Nashville, but if you ask me, few are as much fun as willingly paying someone to scare the absolute hell out of you.
Nashville Nightmare is back for its 16th Halloween season in 2026, and yes, I’m already excited. One of my favorite things about Nashville Nightmare is that it feels like more than just walking through a haunted house. It’s an immersive experience.
This year’s season kicks off Sept. 12 and runs on select nights through Nov. 19, with three brand-new haunted attractions, the return of fan-favorite Fairytale Hell, and a new experience for fans of one particularly hockey-masked horror icon.
Yes, Jason is coming to Nashville Nightmare!
Three New Ways to Get Scared + A Classic Favorite:
1. Creature Feature: “Some shows never end. Step inside an aging theater where the curtains have
long since closed, but one loyal usher still roams the aisles. Silent and ever-watchful, they guide
every guest to the perfect seat… whether you want it or not. As the lights fade and the reels begin
to turn, you’ll realize this performance wasn’t made for the screen. You’re not here to watch the
feature. You’re part of it.”
2. Mr. Sweets’ House of Horrors: “The sweetest place in town has a terrible secret. Behind the
bright colors, sugary treats, and smiling faces lurks Mr. Tasty, a grinning figure who has been
waiting in the shadows far longer than anyone remembers. The scent of candy hangs heavy in
the air, but beneath it lies something far more sinister. Those who wander too far inside don’t
simply disappear. They become part of Mr. Sweets’ collection.”
3. Vector Research: Code XIII: “Officially, Vector Research XIII never existed. Hidden behind
reinforced walls and sealed corridors, the facility was built to push the limits of science without
questions or oversight. Its lead researcher pursued experimental compounds that transformed
test subjects into unstable horrors, forcing the laboratory into permanent lockdown. The
experiments were never destroyed…They were simply locked inside.”
4. Fairytale Hell: “Once upon a time… Something went horribly wrong. You’ve wandered into a
place where every happily ever after has rotted away. Castles lie in ruins and the creatures of
legend have grown cruel with age. Every path leads deeper into a kingdom consumed by
darkness, where monsters rule the pages and no hero is coming to save you.”
Jason Is Coming to Nashville Nightmare
Okay, this one might be the thing I’m most curious about. Nashville Nightmare is bringing Jason Universe to Music City this Halloween season with two new immersive experiences: Jason Universe: Survive the Night and Jason Universe: Director’s Cut.
In Survive the Night, you’ll come face-to-face with Jason Voorhees himself as you make your way through an officially licensed Friday the 13th walkthrough attraction. And from the sounds of it, this isn’t exactly the kind of haunted house where you can relax once you’ve made it around one corner. Jason could be waiting around the next one… or somehow already ahead of you.
Then there’s Director’s Cut, which puts a pretty wild twist on the experience: you get to decide how Jason attacks next.
A camp counselor leads your group into a cabin before handing over control. You’ll choose between four options (Panic, Slash, Strike, and Stalk) to determine what Jason does next. Basically, you get to sit in the director’s chair while Jason’s victims deal with the consequences of your decisions.
And there’s a limited-edition Jason Universe: Director’s Cut patch for those who make it through.
Both experiences are part of a new nationwide partnership between Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group and Horror, Inc., bringing Jason Universe to Nashville Nightmare for the first time.
There are also plenty of other ways to make your night even more terrifying, including Mini Escape Games, Phobia: Sensory Overload, and the Respawn Pass.
But personally? Give me Jason. I’ll probably regret saying that approximately five minutes after walking in.
