Kylie Morgan is stepping into 2026 with new music, newfound independence, and a sense of peace she hasn’t felt in years. “I am so excited to finally be able to get music out,” she says. And this time, it’s on her own terms.
Morgan’s new single, “Like My Own,” marks a major milestone as her first independent release. “I’ve had a publishing deal since I was 14 years old. This is the first song I’m releasing that I own the publishing on, which is crazy to me,” she shares. After requesting to part ways with UMG, Morgan spent a year and a half navigating legal delays before regaining the freedom to release music independently.
That freedom is felt deeply in “Like My Own,” her most personal release to date. The song reflects a period of healing, new love after divorce, and her evolving role as a stepmom. Looking back on 2025, Morgan calls it “one of the most challenging years of my life.” “I realized so many people and situations weren’t serving me or giving me peace,” she says. “I needed to start over in every aspect of my life, and that’s very scary.”
After years of therapy and emotional uncertainty, Morgan is now embracing a safer, more grounded chapter. She speaks openly about how stability and love reshaped her perspective, particularly through her relationship with her boyfriend and his daughter. “It’s wild what your body and mind can develop when you’re in a safe space,” she says.
As she enters this new era, Morgan is especially excited to share the music with the fans who have supported her throughout the journey. “Including the fans has been awesome, it feels like our project,” she says. “These songs show all the chapters: the grief, the fear, and the growth over the past year and a half. You’ll hear where I’ve been and where I am now.”
