Franklin Theatre is Hosting Vinyl Night with a ‘High Fidelity’ Screening

The Franklin Theatre is taking throwback Thursday very seriously this week with their first-ever Vinyl Night featuring a screening of High Fidelity.

The legendary Franklin Theatre’s May 11 event will celebrate “all things analog.” There will be music, memorabilia and a screening of the cult classic starring John Cusack. The one-night event will also have pop-up displays, giveaways and old wax cylinders!

The doors open at 6PM and that’s when the records will start spinning. The DJs will be playing tunes from all genres so music fans will definitely want to get there early. Vinyl night will also have a music panel with folks from Welcome to 1979, Third Man Records, Sundazed Music and guest moderator Tim Hibbs.

The pop-up museum will be open at 6 and they’ll have rare album covers, 78s, wax cylinders and even first pressings. The Franklin Theatre will have gear to play all the old music on.

If all that wasn’t enough, there will also be cool swag in the giveaways. High Fidelity will begin promptly at 8PM and concessions stand will be open so moviegoers can grab beer, wine, snacks and sodas. Tickets to Vinyl Night are only $8 and you can purchase them online before the event.

If you haven’t seen Cusack as the record store owner who’s reliving his top-five breakups, watch the trailer below.
