Dolly Parton is adding two very Dolly destinations to Nashville this month. Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will officially open together on Sept. 29, bringing a new hotel, live music venues, and an immersive look at Parton’s life and career to Music City.
Created in partnership with Dolly Parton and Herschend, SongTeller Hotel is designed as a love letter to Nashville, with 245 guest rooms and suites, two live entertainment venues, food and drink offerings, and plenty of nods to Dolly’s career along the way.
Inside Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel
Music is at the center of the SongTeller Hotel experience, with two very different venues giving guests a chance to experience Nashville’s songwriting and live music scenes.
At the top of the hotel, Jolene’s will host nightly performances from rising singers and songwriters. The space will pair live music with cocktails, small plates and desserts, making it a spot to spend an evening even if you aren’t staying at the hotel.
Down on the second floor, Parton’s Live will take a more intimate approach to Nashville’s songwriting tradition. The venue will host writers’ rounds, songwriter sessions and showcases featuring rising artists, along with seasonal cocktails, shareable food and desserts.
The entertainment lineup will also include some familiar names from Dolly’s family. Her cousin Richie Owens is scheduled to perform at Parton’s Live on Sept. 16, while her niece Jada Star will begin a twice-weekly artist residency on Sept. 17 and 19.
SongTeller Hotel is also partnering with FEMcountry, founded by longtime music industry executive Leslie Fram, to spotlight established female artists and songwriters through monthly performances at Parton’s Live.
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum
If the hotel is the music side of Dolly, the museum is where visitors can really dig into the story behind the woman herself.
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will take up the entire third floor of the hotel, walking guests through Parton’s childhood, career, and life through personal stories, interactive exhibits, and pieces from her own collection.
One of the first stops will be a recreation of the small cabin where Dolly grew up in the Great Smoky Mountains. From there, the experience will follow the people, places, and moments that helped shape her journey from East Tennessee to one of the biggest names in music and entertainment.
One particularly fun part? Dolly herself will guide visitors through her story. Using new technology and footage filmed earlier this year, Parton will appear throughout the museum to share her perspective and take guests through different chapters of her life.
Basically, if you’ve ever wanted to know more about Dolly beyond the songs, rhinestones and big hair, this is going to be the place to do it.
When Can You Go?
Guest reservations for SongTeller Hotel open Sept. 14, with the hotel’s entertainment programming getting underway around the same time. Tickets for Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will be available beginning Sept. 29.
