On Wednesday, mgk surprised fans with a cover of Zach Bryan’s “Sun to Me.” The cover comes from Cheshire Cottage, where he recently collaborated with Travis Barker.
Within the first 15 seconds of the cover, mgk makes it his own by changing a lyric that’s so subtle, you may have missed it. In Bryan’s song, he sings “5:34 am” but mgk changed it to “5:36 am,” referring to his song “5:3666.”
mgk’s voice is haunting and raw, just what the song needs (and something that Bryan does well). It’s a great cover and another fun country cover from the multitalented rap-pop-punk artist. Watch it below and let us know what you think in the comments.
