Trisha Yearwood’s Iced Sugar Cookie Recipe is an Addictive Dessert

We can’t get enough of country icon Trisha Yearwood‘s desserts. This iced sugar cookie is another one we’re thrilled to share. This is the perfect light, sweet treat for any time of year.

HGTV shared the cookie recipe, which calls for the typical ingredients, on their website. Grab your flour, baking powder, salt, butter, an egg and — the best part — vanilla extract.

The icing is a little more complicated and requires confectioners’ sugar, meringue powder, water, food coloring and any additional fun toppings like sprinkles or candy.

Before baking the cookies, put them on a cookie sheet in the refrigerator for a few minutes. According to the recipe, this helps them keep their shape. They don’t take very long to make so keep an eye on them while they’re baking.

After they’ve cooled, spread the icing and add any other fun treats to the top. These are perfect for a rainy day, a holiday party or just a Monday night.

According to HGTV, this recipe is from Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood: Stories and Recipes to Share with Family and Friends. This is one of her many cookbooks. Order your own copy by clicking on the book cover below.
