Trisha Yearwood to Celebrate 20 Years with the Opry

Trisha Yearwood has a major milestone coming up. She’ll celebrate 20 years as a Grand Ole Opry member with an appearance in March.

Yearwood was inducted into the Opry family on March 13, 1999 but this was no average induction. She was inducted by a legend — Opry stalwart Porter Wagoner. She’ll return to that famous stage to celebrate the two decades with the Opry with an appearance on March 12.

Although Yearwood has a lot of accomplishments and accolades, this one holds a special place for her. She recounts in the Opry Family Album, “My mother came here on her senior class trip from South Georgia. She wrote in her diary about seeing Hank Snow, Hawkshaw Hawkins and all those people. When I was inducted as a member of the Opry in 1999, she brought her diary and got Hank Snow to sign it. So it’s not only about me, it’s also about my whole family.”

Yearwood will appear for her 20th anniversary on March 12 and, who knows, there may be cake! Rodney Atkins, Terri Clark, Trace Adkins and the Opry’s newest member, Mark Wills, are also scheduled for that night.

As always, stay up to date with the Opry’s full schedule by visiting their calendar. Tickets for Yearwood’s anniversary are already on sale here (there’s also an option to upgrade your ticket to include a backstage tour).
