Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) just announced its 2026–2027 Broadway at TPAC season, and it is stacked. I’m talking pop culture moments, iconic classics, and so much more.
The eight-show lineup includes six Nashville premieres and the return of two legendary Broadway classics we haven’t seen here in a decade. If you love theatre (or even love a night out downtown), this season feels like one audiences will be talking about for years.

The Ones I’m Personally Counting Down To
Let’s start with the fact that The Phantom of the Opera is finally back. It’s been 10 years since Nashville last hosted it, and that alone feels like an event. Then there’s Death Becomes Her, which has cult classic energy written all over it. If the stage adaptation captures even half of the camp and glamour of the original film, we’re in for a night.
I’m also wildly curious about Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen. A new musical rooted in her music? Yes, please.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

For 65 years, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s THE SOUND OF MUSIC has been one of the world’s most beloved musicals. Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, this vibrant production tells the timeless story of Maria and the von Trapp family and features classic songs including “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and “Edelweiss.”

The Tony Award-winning musical comedy based on the classic film follows rival frenemies Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp as they discover a mysterious potion promising eternal youth with outrageous consequences.
