Tom Hanks took to social media to confirm that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, both tested positive for Coronavirus. They’re the first celebrities to go public with a diagnosis.
“Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too,” he wrote alongside an IG photo of a latex glove in a trashcan. “To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus and were found to be positive.”
Hanks and Wilson are following doctor’s orders and are staying put while they get back on their feet.
“The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanksā will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”
According to Deadline, the couple is currently in Australia to work on the pre-production of a film. They’re there working on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley film.
We’ll keep you updated as we have more information but wish the two a speedy recovery!
