If you can’t make it to CMA Fest this year, you can always watch the TV special. Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini return to host the ABC special on Aug. 8. “The Music Event of Summer” is a three-hour special that brings the festival straight to your living room.
“This year’s CMA Fest is our biggest yet, with many artists debuting full festival sets on the Nissan Stadium stage,” Stara Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer, says. “We’re thrilled once again to broadcast ‘CMA Fest’ and bring the festival to millions of country music fans not only here in the U.S. but all around the world.”
“Thomas and Kelsea are the embodiment of the summer fun that is CMA Fest and we are so excited they’ll be back for year two,” Rob Mills, ABC Entertainment Senior Vice President, Alternative Series, Specials and Late-Night Programming.
As always, the special will be filmed during CMA Fest June 7 through June 10 right here in Nashville. It will feature more than 25 of country’s biggest names as they hit the stage during CMA Fest. This is the 15th consecutive year of the broadcast, something that no other American music festival has achieved.
“CMA Fest” airs Aug. 8 at 7 PM on ABC.
