Thomas Rhett just dropped “Look What God Gave Her,” the first single from his forthcoming album, Center Point Road.
“Look What God Gave Her” is a deliciously upbeat, pop country treat. It’s addictive and infectious and, although it’s still early, we’re predicting it will be another No. 1 for Rhett. If true, that would mark his 13th No. 1 single. The song will be on Rhett’s upcoming album, which drops May 31 on The Valory Music Co.
“I think I played this song 2,000 times in a month after we first wrote it,” he says. “It makes me want to dance. It makes me want to move. And to me, the song really is a celebration of how awesome my wife is. I know I’ve done that in the past, but I’ve never really done it in an uptempo way.”
The Georgia native says this is “the perfect song to take fans into summer” and it’s also the perfect song to get fans excited about his new music. It has an electronic meets pop meets country vibe that doesn’t take away from Rhett’s vocals. Just one play and you’ll be singing along and quickly hitting repeat.
Rhett wrote this song along with his dad, Rhett Akins, Julian Bunetta, John Ryan
“I was really glad we were able to nail this one,” he continues. “My wife is so beautiful but at the same time she’s inwardly beautiful, she’s funny, she’s kind, she’s the best mom I know… and she’s hilarious. It’s really just about thanking God for the human being He made and singing it in a fun way.”
Rhett will debut the song on Saturday Night Live this weekend. He’s also set to debut “more hotly-anticipated new music” during the show. It happens March 2 at 10:30 PM and he’s the first country artist to perform on the show’s current season.
Center Point Road drops May 31 but we’ll have more details on the album soon. For now, all Rhett will say is it finds him “getting back to his roots.” The record is now available for pre-order. Stay tuned for more on the album and
