Thomas Rhett Surprises Nashville Audience During Charlie Puth Show

Charlie Puth brought his headlining show to Ascend Amphitheater on Tuesday night and he had a big surprise for the crowd.Ā

After Hailee Steinfeld got the crowd warmed up, Puth took the stage. It was a gorgeous night in Nashville and the audience was buzzing. The musician played fan favorites that got the audience singing (and screaming) along but the audience got even louder when a special guest came out.

After posting Instagram stories from the show, Thomas Rhett surprised the Music City crowd and joined Puth onstage. They both had some incredible things to say about each other and have even developed a working relationship.

ā€œI got to know Charlie maybe a month ago or two months ago and we wrote some songs together and, as you know, ā€˜cause you’re here, Charlie is one of the most musically talented people I’ve ever met in my entire life,ā€ Rhett says to a screaming crowd. ā€œHe makes me want to learn how to play the piano… Thank you for letting me sing in my hometown in Tennessee.ā€

After his comments, Rhett explained that they would come together for a song that changed his life. He said that while pointing to his wife, Lauren, who was also on hand. That song, was, of course, “Die a Happy Man.” For this version though, Puth put his own spin on it.
