Third Eye Blind Celebrate 20 Years with a TODAY Performance

It’s hard to believe it was 20 years ago when a band named Third Eye Blind dropped their debut. They’re celebrating their anniversary with a summer tour — and a stop at TODAY

Third Eye Blind are just days away from the first show of their Summer Gods Tour with the Silvern Sun Pickups. The tour celebrates “20 years in the blind” and kicks off June 9 in Miami. The band will make a stop in Music City when they play Ascend Amphitheater on June 15. The best part about the tour isn’t getting to hear Jenkins’ ageless voice or watch his stage antics, it’s that they’re playing their debut album in its entirety.

The world was introduced to 3eb when the debut dropped in April of 1997. They first released “Semi-Charmed Life” and it’s still the single they’re most famously known for. The album then spawned four more singles including “Jumper,” one of the tracks they brought to TODAY.

On Thursday morning, Third Eye Blind performed a few tracks after being introduced by Kathie Lee and Hoda. They played a stripped down version of “Jumper,” with Jenkins strumming his acoustic guitar in a casual sweatshirt and jeans look. The studio audience could be seen singing along to every word and, at the end of the performance, Jenkins gave the fans a big group hug. It was some serious Third Eye love.

Watch the Third Eye Blind TODAY performance of “Jumper” below.
