Tenille Townes is having a big year! Last week, she got the surprise of a lifetime on a Zoom call when Keith Urban told her she won the ACM Award for New Female Artist.
When Townes started the video call, she thought she was just having a regular interview. That’s when she saw Urban’s face — and gasped! The shock was all over the country singer’s face. They both had a laugh before he jumped right in and gave her the big news.
Obviously shocked, Townes gasped again and covered her mouth before repeatedly asking him, “For real?”
“I’ll always remember this feeling, standing here as a new artist. I feel so honored and incredibly grateful just to be a part of this country music community that inspires me. Receiving this ACM Award feels like belief from that community and that means so much to me,” she says.
