Sugarland Release ‘Babe,’ Co-Written and Featuring Taylor Swift

Sugarland just released their catchy new breakup song, “Babe.” The track was co-written by Taylor Swift and Train‘s Patrick Monahan.

Although Swift transitioned out of country music roughly four years ago, she’s still lending her writing skills to the genre. She was the brains behind the lyrics of Little Big Town‘s “Better Man” and now she’s done it again with this song. This time around, Swift also sings vocals on the catchy chorus.

“This collaboration is the perfect combination of mutual admiration for each other and mutual admiration for great songs,” Jennifer Nettles told E! Online. “As artists, we really see the world through a similar lens.”

The collaboration worked so well that Sugarland added it to their comeback album, Bigger. The new record drops on Big Machine Records and Universal Music Group Nashville on June 8. This was a big first for the band, who usually write their own songs, but they knew this one was something special.

“We’ve never put someone else’s song on a Sugarland record, but we were immediately interested in ‘Babe’ the first time we heard it! This one really felt like it belonged so we saved it for the final afternoon of our recording session; a special time for us.”

Listen to “Babe” below but don’t blame us when you have it stuck in your head all day.
