Australian indie-rockers Spacey Jane are entering a bold new era with their third studio album If That Makes Sense, out May 9. Known for their dreamy guitar tones and emotional honesty, the band is taking things even deeper this time both sonically and lyrically.
The album explores the highs and heartbreaks of relationships, personal growth, and what it means to move forward when life gets messy. Frontman Caleb Harper dives headfirst into themes of love, trauma, disconnection, and healing.
Fans have already gotten a few early listens from the project, including the melancholic shimmer of “All The Noise” and the soft, slow-burn heartbreak of “How To Kill Houseplants.” Now, with the release of the new single “Through My Teeth,” we’re getting a look at the album’s emotional core.
“We’re really happy to have this song out in the world,” the band shares. “It’s one of our favorites off the record and we can’t wait for you to hear it. It has a longing and nostalgia that made us all fall in love with the song – it goes and goes until the very last fill and we felt it was the perfect way to start the record.”
If That Makes Sense also marks the band’s most collaborative effort yet. Produced by Mike Crossey, the record also features songwriting contributions from Jackson “Day Wave” Phillips and Sarah Aarons.
