The Smashing Pumpkins are getting back together. Three of the band’s original members will hit the road for a tour that includes a stop in Nashville.
For the first time in nearly 20 years, three of the four original members of The Smashing Pumpkins are going on the road.Ā Billy Corgan,Ā Jimmy Chamberlin andĀ James Iha will kick off the Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour on July 12. They’ll hit 36 cities including Music City on July 20.
“This show and staging will be unlike any we’ve ever done and will feature a set unlike any we’ve ever played,” Corgan says. “For if this is a chance at a new beginning, we plan on ushering it in with a real bang.”
The tour is a celebration of the music the band has released over the years. That includes hits from the 90s like “1979,” “Tonight, Tonight” and “Bullet with Butterfly Wings.”
“Some 30 years ago, as The Smashing Pumpkins,Ā James IhaĀ and I began a musical journey in the cramped rear bedroom of my Father’s house. And so it’s magic to me that we’re able to coalesce once more around the incredibleĀ Jimmy Chamberlin, to celebrate those songs we’ve made together,” Corgan gushes.
Tickets for the Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour go on sale Feb. 23 at 10 AM local time. They’ll be available on Live Nation’s website and via the Live Nation App. See a complete list of tour dates for this 2018 tour on the band’s official website.
