Before their Opry at the Ryman performance, Sister Hazel stopped to chat with Nashville Noise. The Florida-formed band dished on how they’ve stayed together for more than two decades.

Sister Hazel formed a band way back in 1993 and named themselves after Sister Hazel Williams, a missionary who ran a homeless shelter. Not long after, they released their self-titled debut. By 1997, they’d released one of their most well-known tracks, “All For You.”

Fast forward to 2018 and the band is gearing up to release Water on Feb. 9. Water is the first EP in a four-part series (and, if this is any indication of what’s to come, you’re going to want to grab all four). Their sound is evolving but at the core, they’re the same great Sister Hazel they’ve always been. They’ve got the same positive attitudes and the same brotherly camaraderie.

So how have they stayed so tight-knit and musically harmonious for over two decades? Find out their secrets to longevity in the video below.
