Country music’s biggest party just tapped a pretty iconic emcee. Shania Twain is officially set to host the 61st ACM Awards (Academy of Country Music Awards), marking her first time leading the show.
The awards will stream live on Prime Video on May 17 at 7 PM CT, broadcasting from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. If you’re not tuning in through Prime, the show will also be available via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and inside the Amazon Music app.
It’s a fitting role for Twain, who helped push country music into global pop territory long before crossover was the norm. With more than 100 million albums sold and a stack of awards, including multiple ACM wins and five Grammys, she’s one of the genre’s most recognizable voices. Now, she’ll be steering the night as it celebrates a new class of artists, including a nomination slate notably led by women this year.
The Academy of Country Music Awards are leaning into a big, spectacle-driven return to their Sunday night slot, promising high-profile collaborations and plenty of live moments. Early performers announced include Kacey Musgraves, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Cody Johnson, Riley Green, and Little Big Town, with more names expected to drop soon.
Outside the main event, ACM week is once again turning Vegas into a full-on country takeover. The lineup includes a Whiskey Jam kickoff at Ole Red Las Vegas, a charity-driven “Country on the Green” event, and a beachside concert at Mandalay Bay.
Tickets for both the awards show and the surrounding events are currently available.
