Classic country singer Shane Owens is back with a catchy new track titled, “Lie.” The song is fun, upbeat and a tongue-in-cheek look at just how foolish men really can be.
Owens has always been a traditionalist and his new song is no different. From the twang of his voice to the musical arrangement, everything about this song screams country. It also sounds like a hit from the very first listen. It’s an instant earworm that’ll have you hitting repeat time and time again.
“Lie” immediately catches your attention with the sharp guitar and brash beat of the drum. In the tongue-in-cheek track, he’s playing the role of wingman for a friend. In the beginning, it seems like it’ll be a fun night out on the town but the song soon takes a hilarious turn. Instead of being a helpful wingman, Owens tells his buddy to just “lie.”
“Whatever it takes, take it from me, tell her anything you think she’ll believe and lie. / Lie like hell, say you’re feeling something that you ain’t ever felt inside… And if she asks if this is just for one night, lie.”
