Sept 3: What to Watch This Weekend

Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.

    The Lost Leonardo

THE LOST LEONARDO tells the inside story behind the “Salvator Mundi,” the most expensive painting ever sold at $450 million, claimed to be a long-lost masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci. From the moment it is purchased from a shady New Orleans auction house, and its buyers discover masterful brushstrokes beneath its cheap restoration, the fate of the “Salvator Mundi” is driven by an insatiable quest for fame, money and power. Go see it this weekend at the Belcourt.

    In Theaters

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Early reviews of Shang-Chi are singing the film’s praises. This one will show just where the new universe stands with the introduction of new characters. I have a feeling this one will be huge. If you go see it, tweet us your review.

    Prime Video

This ensemble cast is star-studded! Camila Cabello, Idina Menzel, Billy Porter and Pierce Brosnan bring to life a modern twist on a Disney Classic. Just trust me, this one is worth watching.

    American Boogeywoman

Redbox: “In the 1970s, a shadow of fear descends upon America as notorious serial killer Ted Bundy continues to evade capture. As a last-ditch effort, rookie FBI agents Kathleen McChesney and Robert Ressler enact a no-holds-barred chase for Bundy to bring the brutal killer to justice and ensure the safety of countless prospective victims.”

    The Gateway

IMDB: A social worker assigned to the care of the daughter of a single mother intervenes when the dad returns from prison and lures them into a life of crime.

This thriller has really strong performances from the cast which includes Frank Grillo, Olivia Munn, and Keith David. Taryn Manning also has a standout supporting role which we discussed in this new interview.
