Sept. 25: What to Watch This Weekend

Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content has dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.

    Redbox

The Secret: Dare to Dream (Sept. 22)

The Secret: Dare to Dream stars Katie Holmes as Miranda Wells, a widow raising three kids. A storm comes and brings a man into her life but he holds a secret and that secret could change everything.

    Most Wanted (Sept. 22)

According to Paramount Movies, “Inspired by a gripping true story, an investigative reporter (Josh Hartnett) fights to expose the twisted truth behind a heroin bust orchestrated by dirty cops to frame an innocent man — sentencing him to life in a Thai prison.”

    Ava (Sept. 25)

Ava is an action-thriller starring Jessica Chastain, John Malkovich, Common, Geena Davis, Colin Farrell, Ioan Gruffudd and Joan Chen. The film was directed by Tate Taylor and written by Matthew Newton.

    Netflix

    Enola Holmes (Sept. 23)

Enola Holmes is the name on everyone’s lips right now, thanks to Netflix. Millie Bobby Brown plays Enola, a teen searching for her missing mom. While using her skills to find her she also must outsmart her brother, Sherlock.

    Sneakerheads (Sept. 23)

Sneakerheads is a brand new series on Netflix. According to the streaming service, “Family man Devin and his fast-talking pal Bobby get swept up bouncing around L.A. in a wheeling-dealing scheme to score a mythical pair of sneakers.”

    Country-Ish (Sept. 25)

This is another new series that will definitely suit our Nashville Noise audience. See what we mean in the trailer above.

    HBO Max

    Just Mercy

Just Mercy is now on HBO Max and it is a must watch. Michael B. Jordan plays a recent Harvard graduate who goes to Alabama to defend those who need him. His first case is a heavy one; it’s that of a man who was sentenced to death for the murder of a girl even though evidence proves he’s innocent.

    Hulu

    Judy (Sept. 25)

Renée Zellweger stars in this film as Judy Garland. It takes place 30 years after The Wizard of Oz.

Ricky Valero is a host of the Music City Drive-In podcast. Listen to it on your favorite streaming platforms and follow their website for more movie and TV news.
