Selena Gomez stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and opened up about her forthcoming album.
The pop singer has gone through a lot in the last several years including a kidney transplant back in 2017. Now, she’s ready to focus on her music and we may be getting new tunes even sooner than we expected!
While chatting with Fallon, Gomez said, “I’m actually done. I have to do a few finishing things with it but I’m just relieved. It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album and it’s just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life, personally.”
She said she wasn’t sure how she would “capture” all of that in one record. The 26-year-old challenged herself and kept going. Now, she’s “relieved.”
Gomez said she’ll always have pop in her music but that’s not the only influence we’ll see on her third studio album.
“I definitely explored more with electric guitar, a lot of more soulful tracks underneath things, acoustic guitar. It all kinds of hit different places that I feel like is my lane for music.”
There’s no release date for #SG3 yet but we’ll let you know more as soon as we know more. Stay tuned and watch the full chat with Fallon above and check out a brief conversation with Ryan Seacrest below.
