Scotty McCreery celebrated “This Is It” going number one on March 20 in Nashville.
Media and members of the country music community gathered at ASCAP on Music Row to celebrate the accomplishment. The song was written by McCreery, Aaron Eshuis and Frank Rogers. They were also on hand to speak and accept their awards for the song.
“If you had told me a couple [of] years ago we’d be here, I’d have told you, you were crazy. It has been an incredible feeling and an incredible ride,” he said before thanking his wife, Gabi, who inspired the song. “It is easy to write love songs about you baby… Appreciate you marrying me and saying yes, otherwise this song might not have made it on the radio… ‘This is not it’ is not a great title.”
