Sarah Hardwig is a 16-year-old with big dreams. She was born with Leber Congenital Amaurosis, a rare genetic disorder that caused blindness at birth, but she’s refused to let that stand in her way. She’s still chasing her country music dreams.
We’ve been following her for a few years now but she’s been singing for much longer. Hardwig has been singing country music since she was just eight years old. She went to her first concert in 2009, a Jason Aldean and Brooks and Dunn show, and was immediately bitten by the music bug. She went into the studio the next year, recording 15 cover songs.
Since then, Hardwig has performed the national anthem more than 100 times and performed in musicals and operas. Most recently, she went to Revival 615 at Nashville’s Tin Roof to perform a couple of original songs. She bravely performed “I Know a Few Good Guys” and our personal favorite, “Confidence.” Watch “Confidence” above.
