Following his nostalgic “Old Times Sake,” a 70s-inspired track drenched in retro vibes, Griffin takes a different route with his latest single. It fuses rootsy country grit with a powerful, punchy delivery.
Co-written by Griffin alongside Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrok, and Red Street Publishing’s Ava Suppelsa, “Broke” is a bold declaration of emotional and financial struggle, wrapped up in a catchy rhythm that’s sure to resonate with listeners. From the first notes, it’s clear that Griffin has tapped into a raw and unapologetic energy, bringing a new layer to his versatile musicality.
“Broke is my new whiskey-soaked anthem about love lost and the cost of moving on. With lyrics like ‘Run my tab up high, I’ll be sipping till my heart ain’t the only thing broke,’ it captures the sting of a breakup with a melody that’ll have you raising a glass and singing along,” Griffin says.
