For their special show, Dear Boy supported the band and they showed their genuine appreciation for Rogue Wave. Ben Grey, the band’s lead singer with a great head of hair, gushed that it was a “privilege” to go on tour with one of his favorite bands. Their approximately 35-minute set got the crowd hyped, especially when they performed their newest single, “Love Interest.”
When it was finally time for the main act to take the stage, they casually strolled under the lights to greet the audience. They announced they’d be playing Asleep at Heaven’s Gate from top to bottom for the big anniversary. “It goes like this,” Zach Rogue said before they played their first song, “Harmonium.”
The small venue show was intimate and full of energy but the band found themselves having technical difficulties. Whether it was a wonky drum kit or a guitar issue, the show went on and they didn’t miss a beat (pun intended).
“[It’s] close enough for rock ‘n roll,” Rogue said as his guitar problem delayed “Lullaby” a few seconds.
This Music City show was especially exciting for the band who remixed the anniversary album in Nashville. The guy who helped them with the rerelease was in the crowd and Rogue suggested we thank him with an intimate kiss — “on the lips.”
The 10th-anniversary show was an exceptional night in Nashville proving that the show must always go on. Watch Rogue Wave perform the song with the biggest crowd response, “Lake Michigan,” below.
Haven’t seen Rogue Wave live yet? This is a tour we highly recommend and they’re on the road through May 20. See a full list of tour dates on their official website. Download Asleep at Heaven’s Gate by clicking on the image below.
