Ford v Ferrari, starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, is the racing movie about Ford attempting to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Damon plays an American car designer, Carroll Shelby, and Bales plays a British racecar driver, Ken Miles. They work together to create the car that will, hopefully, beat Ferrari at the lengthy race in France.
James Mangold directed the 152-minute film that’s been creating buzz ever since the first trailers dropped. Overall, this film was very engaging for several reasons — one of which is the acting. Every actor in this film plays their part believably well with Bale really embodying the British driver. Josh Lucas is also a standout with his performance of Leo Beebe, the guy we all love to hate. He does it perfectly (in fact, I’m still mad at him).
As the previews show, there’s a lot of fast-paced racing action that keeps this movie exciting — especially in 4DX. We felt like we were actually in the car, with smoke and scents filling the air as Miles raced the track. When we weren’t in the action-packed scenes, the seats would slowly tilt and turn, giving us the perfect POV for each scene.
Nashville Noise has seen several films in 4DX but this one, this one was the perfect picture for that format.
