Hosting a dinner party? Planning a celebration? Want something different for happy hour? It’s always a good time for sangria and this is the perfect recipe.
After scouring the Internet for recipes, making our own tweaks and testing hundreds of drinks, we’ve finally found the perfect red wine recipe. (It was a tough job, you guys.) We started with a traditional Spanish recipe from Gimme Some Oven and went from there.
For this sangria, GSO calls for a Spanish red wine but we prefer using Arrington Vineyards’ Cabernet Sauvignon (you can even order online). Instead of a brandy, we opt for a rum. Usually, we pick our favorite — Blue Chair Bay. As far as fruit, we typically go for apples, oranges and berries. You can pick the fruit that best suits the flavor you’re going for. Lastly, we add a little simple syrup. That’s all you need!
Red Wine Sangria Recipe:
1 Bottle of Arrington Vineyards wine
1/4 c Blue Chair Bay Rum
Mixed Fruit
Simple Syrup to taste
1. Combine the wine, rum and fruit in a sangria pitcher.
2. Cover and refrigerate. If you simply can’t wait, 30 minutes will do but the flavors really come out if you let it sit for a few hours.
3. Cheers!
Of course, you can make sangria with everything you have at home but make it a little more fun with these adorable sangria accessories. They’re all available on Amazon.
