Country songstress Megan Barker has a brand new single dropping April 26 and we are thrilled to exclusively premiere the audio track. It’s a playful new song that perfectly encapsulates springtime and Barker’s lighthearted brand.
“‘South Dakota’ is subtly empowering,” Barker says of the new track. “This girl is about to head south for a fresh start when she falls in love. But she’s not changing her plans! So she asks him, ‘are you coming with me?’ I like to think he packed a bag, jumped in the truck, and they drove off into the sunset.”
“South Dakota” was produced by Dave Flint and was written by Barker along with Greg Friia and Keyton Romero. This new track will draw in more fans to her rapidly growing fanbase, thanks to its lighthearted nature. It’s a great addition to any spring and summer playlists, full of good vibes.
