Oct. 1: What to Watch This Weekend

Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.

    Belcourt

    Titane

Fresh off its Palme d’Or win at Cannes 2021, Titane is debuting at the Belcourt. The movie debuted to massive praise — for the most part. I can’t wait to see what all the hype is about. You can get your tickets here.

    In Theaters

    Venom: Let There Be Carnage

IMDB: “Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters.”

    In Theaters/HBO Max

    The Many Saints of Newark

Sopranos fans rejoice! A prequel to the HBO smash-hit TV show has arrived. The movie highlights how a young Anthony Soprano became the mob legend he was in the TV series.

    Netflix

    The Guilty

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the English adaptation of the 2018 Danish film of the same name. Jake plays a 911 operator who gets a call that changes his life forever. The intense thriller highlights why Gyllenhaal is one of today’s best actors.

    Redbox

    The Forever Purge

Did you miss The Forever Purge in theaters? The latest installment of The Purge franchise is out now at Redbox. After so many years of purging on just one night, a group of people seek to bring purging back — on a daily basis. Want more? Check out my full review.
