Music City Food + Wine Announce Expanded 2017 Festival, Chef List

The Music City Food + Wine festival has big news before its fifth year! Not only have they expanded to three days but they have more chefs than ever.

The 2017 event is bound to be their best yet and there are a ton of additions. Kings of Leon, Jonathan Waxman, Ken Levitan, Andy Mendelsohn and C3 Presents are bringing flavorful food and delectable drinks to Nashville from September 15 to September 17.

“Nashville’s reputation as a destination for music lovers is fast being challenged by our status as a premier foodie destination in the Southeast,” Mayor Megan Barry says. “The Music City Food + Wine Festival will highlight some of our amazing chefs and restaurateurs who are defining southern cuisine and showing that Nashville is the place to be for talented and creative individuals looking to show off their skills.”

They’ll get to show their skills even longer now that a Friday Night Grand Taste Pavilion has been added. It happens from from 6PM to 10PM and includes cooking demos, discussions, tasting sessions and more. The Grand Taste Pavilion will be held Saturday from 11AM to 4PM at Bicentennial Capitol’s State Mall Park. More than 80 artisans will be in attendance — along with pit master Pat Martin.

Pappy Hour is also making its return this year with Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery‘s Preston Van Winkle leading the bourbon tasting on Saturday. Another can’t miss portion of Music City Food + Wine’s festival is Sunday’s Gospel Brunch. The brunch will feature Southern brunch favorites with gospel music from Gayles Mayes.

“Nashville is home to some of the world’s best musicians, chefs and restaurants, and we’re proud to bring them together over the course of the Music City Food + Wine weekend,” Ken Levitan, co-founder of the festival, says. “We’re thrilled to expand the Festival to include Friday night’s Grand Taste and Sunday’s Gospel Brunch, and look forward to a fun and delicious fifth year!”
