James Beard award-winning chef, Tandy Wilson, is gearing up to open another Nashville restaurant. We got to preview the new spot as a countdown to Music City Food + Wine Festival.
Wilson is Music City’s first James Beard award-winning chef and he’s opening Mop / Broom Mess Hall later this month. The restaurant is opening in Germantown and will be a spot for southern comfort food. During the preview, we sampled chili cheese fries, jalapeno cheddar hot dogs and a tasty piece of cake. This is the kind of food Wilson grew up eating and it’s a nod to that.
“With Mop / Broom Mess Hall, I get to introduce people to who I am as a chef now and the kind of food I cook at home in my own kitchen,” he explained. “It will also be a representation of how my view of hospitality has changed since I entered the industry over a decade ago. It’ll be warm and welcoming and I think our guests will notice that immediately.”
