Middle Tennessee ‘Holiday Heroes’ Still Needed for 150 Children

The following is a press release:

Youth Villages is searching for Holiday Heroes to help make the holidays special for 150 children receiving services at Youth Villages who have experienced trauma, abuse and/or neglect.

Holiday Heroes have been helping children in the Middle Tennessee community for more than 15 years by connecting corporate and community volunteers to fulfill the holiday wish lists for local youth who would not receive any gifts for the holidays, otherwise. The wish lists include three gifts, along with clothing sizes, hobbies, and other useful information to shop for that child.

“This year, more than 2,500 children will receive holiday wishes from ‘Heroes’ in our community,” said Greg Schott, assistant director of development. “But, we still have 150 children still waiting for their Holiday Heroes! We’re hoping people will sign up to ensure every child in our care here in Middle Tennessee has a happy holiday come Dec. 25.”

The deadline to shop and deliver items from a child’s wish list is Monday, Dec. 13.
