Nashville Celebrates Matt Stell’s First Number One Hit

Country singer-songwriter, Matt Stell, had a big Tuesday (Nov. 19) in Nashville. Together with his co-writers and the music business, he celebrated the success of his debut single, “Prayed for You.”

Stell joined his co-writers Ash Bowers and Allison Veltz Cruz at The Sutler for a party hosted by performing rights organizations ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. This was an extra special celebration because it was the first No. 1 for all three of the writers.

It was a packed house for the party with cocktails and appetizers flowing. Stell, Bowers and Cruz were all smiles as music publishers congratulated them on the big accomplishment.

“Prayed for You” is now Gold-certified (and approaching Platinum status) and was a multi-week No. 1. If that wasn’t enough, the song was the only debut artist single to top the chart this year.

The song is on his EP, Everywhere But On. He’s also going on a tour of the same name, which will be his first headlining tour. It kicks off Jan. 24 in San Diego.
