Matt Bellassai’s book, Everything is Awful, drops next month and he’s going on tour! The comedian expanded his tour dates to include Nashville this winter.
Everything is Awful and Other Observations is social media star Bellassai’s first book. It drops on Oct. 24 and is described as “a collection of hilariously anguished essays chronicling awful moments from Matt’s life so far, the humiliations of being an adult, and other little indignities.”
“The book includes those banana-slipping moments we’ve all had at one point or another,” he tells the Chicago Sun Times. “In my case, it was the awkwardness of growing up, being a fat kid, feeling uncomfortable in my own skin, having weird hair. I was a total nerd in high school and suffered all those indignities that made me the grumpy person I am today.”
To support his book, he’s hitting the road on a tour of more than 20 dates. When he originally posted the tour dates, he didn’t include Nashville, but Music City got a surprise on Monday. Bellassai expanded the dates to include a Dec. 5 stop at Zanies Comedy Club. The Nashville show is 18 and up and starts at 7:30PM.
Tickets are on sale now for $43.75 with a two purchase minimum. If that seems like a steep price, it’s because it’s more than just a ticket. Each ticket will include a signed copy of the book and a post-show meet and greet.
Bellassai rose to social media fame with his BuzzFeed series, “Whine About Itz” That led him to his own web series, “To Be Honest,” and now he’s got a podcast, “UnHappy Hour with Matt Bellassai.” No matter what the comedian is doing, he’s making us laugh.
