The Grand Ole Opry’s 100 celebration continued with a tribute to Porter Wagoner. As part of the Opry 100 Honors series, the evening spotlighted Wagoner’s legacy with unforgettable performances and a special moment honoring his signature style.
The tribute lineup was stacked with Opry favorites, including Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, The Isaacs, Mandy Barnett, and Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor. They were joined by Rhett Akins, Chuck Mead, Gordon Mote, and more, each bringing their own touch to the celebration.
One of the night’s most memorable moments came when Marty Stuart unveiled his brand-new Opry 100–themed mic stand — designed in the same flashy, retro spirit as the stage wear he and Wagoner both famously wore. The mic stand, inspired by the look Stuart donned the night of his Opry induction in 1992, was created exclusively for the Opry’s 100th year. Like Dolly Parton’s earlier mic treatment, Stuart’s will make appearances during special performances throughout the centennial.
Porter Wagoner, known for his rhinestone suits designed by Manuel Cuevas and his decades-long impact on country music, remains one of the Opry’s most colorful and influential figures. The tribute not only honored his music, but the style and personality that made him a country icon.
