Maren Morris is bringing The Dreamsicle Tour home to Nashville this Thursday (Sept. 25) with a stop at The Pinnacle. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter wraps up the U.S. leg of the run in Music City, which is a fitting finale for an album that’s all about transformation, healing, and finding joy in the messy middle. Ahead of the show, Morris shared with Nashville Noise what makes hometown concerts so meaningful, the songs fans are singing the loudest, and what the Nashville crowd can expect.
Nashville Noise‘s Coti Howell: We’ve had the privilege of seeing you play in Nashville several times, and we know how special Music City shows are. What feels different about stepping onto a stage in your home base compared to the rest of the tour?
Maren Morris: Seeing my friends and the people I made my music with in the crowd at the Nashville shows is always so special. I’m gone so much while touring that coming back and having a homecoming with everyone is an amazing way to end this U.S. run!
Dreamsicle is such a vulnerable yet uplifting record. How have fans connected with the new songs in a live setting?
MM: I think they feel like if my heart can be on my sleeve, so can theirs. Being vulnerable builds trust, and I’ve built that trust with them over almost a decade.
Are there certain tracks that are getting the biggest reactions on this tour?
MM: It changes each night, but “Lemonade” and “Be a Bitch” are really fun sing-alongs.
The deluxe edition adds four brand-new songs. Was there one you were especially excited to bring to the stage for the first time?
MM: “Running” was added to our show a couple weeks ago, and the crowd reaction has already been so loud for that one! It’s a cathartic release during the set.
After everything this album represents — endings, beginnings, and finding light through change — what do you hope fans walk away with after seeing you on this tour?
MM: I think they’re seeing a really honest side of me. I’m way more open when talking to them between songs. Admitting I’m a mess and imperfect, but laughing my way through and still showing up for myself and my work. It’s a really fun but emotional journey of a set that I hope leaves them in a place of hopefulness and connection.
