Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.
In Theaters
Nobody
IMDB: “A bystander who intervenes to help a woman being harassed by a group of men becomes the target of a vengeful drug lord.”
Netflix
Nate Bargatze: The Greatest Average American
Nashville’s own, and frequent Zanies performer, Nate Bargatze has his latest stand-up comedy special streaming on Netflix. The comedian tackles what it’s like being just an average, everyday American.
Country Comfort
Netflix: “After hitting the skids in her career, an aspiring country singer finds new life as a nanny for a handsome widower and his five charming children.”
Redbox
Promising Young Woman
One of the best films of 2020 is now at Redbox. Promising Young Woman is fresh off receiving six Academy Award nominations, including one for Carey Mulligan, who plays Cassie, a woman hell-bent on getting revenge. Mulligan gives a career-best performance in the role. Check out my review here.
Disney+
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
With the world recovering from Thanos trickle-down effects, Captain America is gone, and the world needs a new hero. Bucky and Falcon are here to lead the charge in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
