On Monday night, America found out who won the 16th season of American Idol. They also got to see Luke Bryan debut his new single, “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset.”
According to the four-time Entertainer of the Year, he’d been waiting all season for that moment. He was looking forward to finally getting “home” and performing on the Idol stage. Bryan surprised fans by only revealing that he would debut a new song, but not which one it would be.
When he took the stage to perform, Ryan Seacrest introduced him and made the big announcement. The new single was written by Zach Crowell, Ryan Hurd and Chase McGill and is featured on Bryan’s debuting No. 1 album, What Makes You Country. It’s the follow-up to Bryan’s 20th career No. 1 single, “Most People Are Good.” Watch him perform the new single above.
On May 31, Bryan heads back on the road to continue his What Makes You Country Tour. The tour just took home Top Country Tour on Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards.
“I’m excited to kick this summer tour off and get back in front of the fans,” he says. “To think about the opportunity to also include 13 stadiums is unreal! This line up is going to have so much energy. Can’t wait!”
Bryan will also play CMA Festival here in Nashville on June 10.
