The 36-year-old rapper performed approximately 20 minutes, according to fans on social media. He then told the crowd, “This might be my last night” before adding, “That’s not my swag.”
“Hold on. I just want the people to know — if you’re wondering, please forgive me… But I am so not used to performing to a crowd and there’s not too many, you know, like still… That’s not my swag. I’m not sure how long I’m going to be able to do this tour but make some noise for Blink-182 for including me anyway,” the rapper said. According to the video caption, after his speech, Lil Wayne put his microphone down in the middle of the stage and walked off. Fans were left confused and many of them took to social media to voice their opinions.
Less than 24 hours after the incident, Lil Wayne spoke out saying that he won’t be quitting the tour.
The North American portion of this tour, with Blink-182, Lil Wayne and Neck Deep, continues through Sept. 18. There are a few dates on there that do not include Lil Wayne (as marked by an asterisk). The tour isn’t coming to Nashville but they will play Atlanta on July 27.
