Many people know Lauren Akins as the beautiful wife of country superstar Thomas Rhett but she’s so much more than that.
Akins has always been open about her philanthropic ways and now she’s taking that to another level. She just released her fine jewelry line, Lauren Akins X Ladybird. The jewelry line supports children in Uganda through Love One International. Love One International came from the work of 147 Million Orphans, an organization that Akins has worked with. That’s where her love for the people, and children, of Uganda developed.
“The impact Love One International is making on kids’ lives in Uganda is truly indescribable,” she says. “We’re helping shape communities and rebuild families through these children. Their bellies are full and more importantly, so are their hearts. I know it is impossible to care for every child’s needs in the world, but we each can love one. This is the idea behind Love+1 and why we created this jewelry line.”
To create this jewelry line, Akins worked with Ladybird designer Emily Dee. The pieces are made to order and currently, there are seven necklace options. There’s a sterling silver and there are 14K gold pieces in white gold, rose gold and yellow gold. The necklaces include three small charms and they all honor the spirit behind the message and spirit of Love One International.
