Lady Gaga Releases Breathtaking Piano Version of ‘Joanne’

Lady Gaga has released a stripped down version of “Joanne,” the song about her late aunt. Along with this version, she also released a beautiful new visual.

“Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)” is an even more powerful version of the title track from Lady Gaga’s 2016 album. The song has the same lyrics about Joanne Germanotta, Gaga’s late aunt who died from lupus, but with slower vocals and a piano background. If you didn’t think the song could hit you in the feels any more than it already did, you’ve got to hear this rendition.

On Friday, when Lady Gaga released the song, she also released a five minute visual to go with it. The video shows Gaga singing the emotional song at her piano, in a garden and even strolling downtown.

Watch the visual for the piano version of “Joanne” below.

When Mother Monster previewed the song and video for her fans on Twitter, she also mentioned that the Lupus Research Alliance would receive a donation in Joanne’s honor. She asks her Little Monsters to also consider donating. Find out more about the organization, and donating, here.
