It’s the “next chapter” for Kelsea Ballerini. Today, she dropped the highly-anticipated first release from her sophomore album, a single called “Legends.”
Fans have been waiting quite some time for new music from Ballerini and today they got their very first taste. And it is a sweet one. “Legends” is her story of an unforgettable, legendary romance.
“’Legends’ is one of the first songs I wrote for the record and every time I’ve listened to it, I find a different meaning,” she explains. “It brings me back to the heartbreak I wrote it from, it makes me think of my fans and the journey we’ve shared, and now I sing it from the perspective of a legendary love story. I hope everyone hears something in it that brings them to a place of nostalgia and is as excited as I am to begin this next chapter together.”
“Legends” isn’t a slow, romantic track but instead an upbeat and whimsical one. The song slowly builds over time after starting with a romantic piano. It’s the perfect release for summer and will definitely make its way on several summer soundtracks.
Tonight, Ballerini will perform “Legends” during the 2017 CMT Music Awards. She’s also going into the night as a four-time nominee. The awards air live from Nashville’s Music City Center at 7PM and we have the full list of nominees.
