Kelsea Ballerini took to her social media platforms to tell fans they wouldn’t see her at the CMT Awards in the way they expected. The 2022 CMT Awards host will still be a part of the night, co-hosting and performing from her very own home.
“A couple days ago, I tested positive for COVID and the CMT Awards are tonight,” she says in a video to fans. “Unfortunately, I cannot be there in person anymore and I am devastated.”
Ballerini goes on to explain that although she’s “gutted,” her team and the CMT team brought a part of the award show to her home (her “bubble” as she calls it).
“Let’s make some lemonade together out of these very bitter lemons.”
