Keith Urban Delivers Haunting Cover of ‘Burden’ During ACMs

During the 2019 ACMs, Keith Urban performed an unexpected song. He delivered an emotional and moving cover of Foy Vance’s “Burden.”

Little Big Town introduced Urban, saying he “felt compelled” to perform this particular song during the show. He wanted to unite people during a difficult time — and he did just that.

To make the performance even more dramatic, the Aussie native’s award show lighting was dark and moody. When he was seen on stage, it was mostly dark with just blue lighting behind him. The Entertainer of the Year sang the beautiful lyrics along with a piano. It was simple, which made it even more moving.

No matter how much you’re hurting right now, you know that everything will change in time. So let me carry your burden,” he sang.

Towards the end of the track, the music kicked up a notch. The emotions ran high up until he dramatically ended the song and the stage lights went back.
