There’s an exclusive film collaboration coming from Kanye West and IMAX. The rapper will release a brand new IMAX film called Jesus is King in select theaters around the world on Oct. 25.
The movie was filmed this summer and it brings West’s Sunday Service (his weekly church-like gatherings) to life. The movie takes place in Roden Crater, which is a never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert. Visionary artist James Turrell is the brains behind the installation.
This unique IMAX experience includes gospel songs arranged by West and music from his new album of the same name, Jesus is King. The IMAX portion of this film really makes it all come to life with its immersive sound and beautiful clarity.
This past weekend, West let select lucky parties hear his new album along with a sneak peek of the film. The rest of us will just have to wait on more details so check back often. We’ll update this as we know more.
