Country singer Kalie Shorr is ready to make her first appearance in a very prestigious circle. Shorr’s Grand Ole Opry debut is set for later this month.
On March 31, Shorr will step into the Opry circle for the first time ever. This invitation comes years working her a** off on her music. She’s been hoping to play this iconic show and now she finally has the opportunity.
“The Opry has been a goal of mine for the longest time so it’s such a pinnacle moment for me,” she gushes. “I played a show with Linda Davis a few weeks ago and she gave me some advice and told me, ‘Don’t be afraid to be quiet and soak it in. Really feel what’s happening and remember it.’ I plan to do exactly that and I can’t wait to stand in the circle and celebrate country music.”
Her mom seems to be feeling the excitement too. In between shows while on the road, Shorr called her mom to tell her the good news. Shorr captured the sweet moment on video and shared it on her Twitter account. In the clip, she’s fighting back tears as she asks her mom to come and watch. Her mother gasps before she also starts to cry. It’s a beautiful moment (but you may want to grab a tissue).
