June 4: What to Watch This Weekend

Between movie theaters, VOD, Redbox, Netflix and the rest of the streaming platforms, a lot of content dropped this week. I went through and found some of the best options you can watch this weekend.

    Belcourt

    Undine

IFC: “Christian Petzold (PHOENIX, TRANSIT) boldly reimagines the ancient myth of Undine in this suspenseful tale of romance and betrayal in modern day Berlin. Undine (Paula Beer) works as a historian lecturing on Berlin’s urban development. But when the man she loves leaves her, the myth catches up with her. Undine has to kill the man who betrays her and return to the water. Will Undine defy fate when she meets a diver (Franz Rogowski) offering her a chance at new love?”

    Franklin Theatre

    Scoob!

IMDB: “Scooby and the gang face their most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this dogpocalypse, the gang discovers that Scooby has an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.”

    In Theaters

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

Ed and Lorraine Warren are back in the latest Conjuring movie, but this time, they take on a case ripped right out of the headlines. In this one, the murderer claims a demonic possession made him commit murder. This horror flick is also on HBO Max.

    Redbox

    Boogie

Eddie Huang, known for writing Fresh Off the Boat, comes to the feature film world for the first time and adds a needed viewpoint to the sports drama world. Check out my full review of the film here.

    Apple TV+

    Servant

OK you got us. This one is isn’t new but it is worth the watch (I binged both seasons in two days). This M. Night Shyamalan series is addictive, thanks to its jaw-dropping twists and turns.
